Think Deeper, Aim Higher

Back to home
Welcome to Middle School at EBIS – an exciting and important stage where students grow academically, socially and personally as they prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead. Across Years 7, 8 and 9, students experience a broad and balanced British curriculum designed to deepen subject knowledge while developing critical thinking, independence and intellectual curiosity. Lessons are led by subject specialists, allowing students to explore ideas in greater depth across English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Languages, Computing, Sport and the creative arts. Learning increasingly challenges students to think for themselves. They are encouraged to question, analyse, debate, problem-solve and communicate their ideas with confidence. Through purposeful assessment, feedback and appropriate challenge, teachers help students understand their strengths, recognise their next steps and take greater responsibility for their own progress. Life in Middle School extends beyond academic study. Through sport, enrichment, leadership opportunities, assemblies, competitions, community projects and our wider co-curricular programme, students are encouraged to discover new interests, develop their talents and contribute positively to school life. Pastoral care remains central to the Middle School experience. As students navigate these important years of personal development, our pastoral team provides guidance, support and clear expectations, helping them develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships. By the end of Year 9, students leave Middle School with stronger subject knowledge, effective study habits and a clearer understanding of their individual strengths – ready to approach IGCSE study with confidence and ambition.
